Cleaner application

Post by Acidcloridrix on Tue Nov 03, 2009 2:19 pm

Hi !
I want to apply for a spot on your team.
It's been a while since I've wanted to and I'm seriously learning how to use
photoshop. Still I like good work so I'm doing my best.
Here is the 01.jpg. Please be indulgent with me :

I'll post the rest later on. I have trouble with the noise so if you have any advice
I'll take them.

Thank you ^_^ and I hope you'll like my work !

Hello...

Black areas are not solid (still covered with some white dust)

If you resize the page into 1200 height after you're done, the clean will look better...

for the noise, use level and a neat image. reading the tutorial might helps.

and for the noise inside blacks, use burn tool.

Ah yes, you're right.
I wasn't careful enough.
For NeatImage though I don't really know how to use it.

Okay I've done the 03.jpg so here it is :

I know its the easiest of them all. I read the tutorials, thank you.
It might look like I'm a bit slow, but 'm trying to find my own techniques and
I'm reading a lot of tutorials.

For the 01.jpg, I'll just post the remade one tomorrow or so.

some blacks still aren't burned solid.

zoom in to see them. or use ctrl+i. it'll invert the colors.. it'll be easier to see the unburned parts.. they'll appear as tiny white dots. :3

/me runs

Okay, Thanks.
I thought it would make a too great difference between solid black and the rest but if you say so, I will.
Other than that, is it good ?

well, I'd say its acceptable for beginner but beside what yealo have said, I still see "the purple" in there and I guess you are not using Neat Image or some kind of that plugin (well.. if you have use them than its mean over leveled) and you haven't doing the re-boarding thing (have u ever read our tutorial? ). Overall its good. I'll give U 60 pts. U only need more training (especially leveling) I suggest use diffrent kind of raw for training. And... please don't show us only one page?! wth.. show us at least 3 diffrent pages! and for last words "Keep the good work"

Aha ! I guess you're right for the pages. I thought I could make it fast enough but I didnt. Not good ...

And I forgot about the reboarding, sorry. I guess I read too many tutorials in the same time and I forgot yours. It won't happen again.
Thank you very much for your appreciation, I'll keep doing my best.

For NeatImage, I'm on mac so I don't know if it does the same effects.
I didn't have the results I hoped so I didn't use it.
I'll try to figure it out.

Well it's been awhile now.
Like you advised me, Kyouka, I'm training for now but I'm definitely
gonna retake the test when I'm good enough. Until then, I don't think
I'll post anything so if you have a suggestion (like close the the thread, or ...)

Anyway I thank all of you, takadama, Kenji_37, yealo and Kyouka for your
advices. (In fact I'm on the m7 tutorials now, before I was reading books like
Classroom in a book and I even went on lynda.com .... )

Hum, then "I'll be back." ^_^

Great. I hope you are not depressed about what I've said, it's just my point, don't think about it too much ^^ and I'm sorry if I hurt your feeling. I'm not good enough either, I'm still learning too (especially at color pages).
Then, I'll give if you the reason why I've said that. First and most of all why I said 'show us at least 3 different pages' is because we (well.. at least I am) want to see your will/eager to be a cleaner in this team. We works in team and the cleaners sometimes devide their work in 1 manga (so.. as you can see sometimes there's 2 or 3 cleaner doing 1 chapter), some of us hate people who only doing 2-3 easy pages then leave the rest (well, it's alright if its leftover page but it's not) so we don't want to see people like that again. and we want quality so practice makes perfect. (actually don't worry about quality too much we have QCs who backing us up. /me runs. And once you are in, we still can learning to improve our skill together)
And why I say to see our tutorial? It's not to imitated the way we do (you have to find your own style) it's just to see what we want, so you'll know what you have to do.
And the last, my English is bad (it's not my native language) so I'm sorry if you are confused. We always welcome people who really want to help us as a team ^^. and once again don't think about it too much and get depressed; because we are doing it with fun.

Ah ah nah no worries.
I understand, about the fun, I have some too while learning.
I love manga as well, really love it. So it's been 3 to 4 years that
I wanted to help a group. And if I did'nt show some other pages it's because
I couldn't make it good. So I tried again. but no worries, I'm not depressed.
Even if it seems like >.>
Well this time I'm okay to try once more. I'll do it the best that I can,
and I'll put them here, even if it's not perfect.
Thank you, you cheered me up .
